Once the emotional body is out of balance, the physical body will create an illness or an accident as it seeks change into balance. What I mean is that if you feel desperate, frustrated or stressed out, then your body might start giving you some trouble so watch out!
We might go to doctors complaining about different symptoms. Sometimes it’s physical pain, irritations, infections, diseases etc. We are given cocktails of pills, antibiotics, creams, sprays etc and still, many times, the symptoms seem to persist or to crop up again and again. What is the real cause? Were we given the wrong treatment? Are we suffering from something that can’t be cured?! Are we destined to be eternally ill?! No it’s just the mind. The mind will be warning us that something is wrong. This is our built-in automatic warning system. Psychosomatic disorders are psychological factors affecting physical conditions. Our mental and emotional states influence our bodies too. Anybody who harbors negative emotions will inevitably suffer from tension and stress and these may in turn affect our bodies.
On the other hand, a little stress in our lives is beneficial. People tend to perform better when under a moderate amount of stress than they do when they are not stressed at all. Moderate amounts of stress can motivate you to be more productive and to get more work done. Yet, too much stress tends to impact us in a negative way. When we exceed our limits, we run out of energy and thus start to suffer from fatigue. This is when stress turns into distress. Feelings of distress affect our ability to perform tasks and to successfully respond to threats.
Emotional stress can also affect our immune system, making it easier for the person to be attacked by many harmful ‘invaders’. That is why people under stress are more likely to develop infectious diseases, migraines anxiety, asthma, tiredness, depression, digestive/ bowel problems, sleep disorders, hypertension etc...
Many people dislike hearing that their illness is psychological and insist that it is purely physical, so in these cases the symptoms remain. Unfortunately, some people find it difficult to challenge or to change the disturbing situations they find themselves in. If we do not process our painful emotions, they will keep on piling up in our subconscious until they will imbalance all our whole system.
Sometimes, as weird as it may sound, a person would subconsciously want to be ill. This could either be a form of escapism; to evade a threatening situation or simply for attention or affection seeking. And guess what! We succeed! The next day we could have a terrible flu, a menacing headache or something else. Thus we have to realize that sometimes we cause our own distress. As we can cause our own mental distress, so we could also un-cause it and be healed. Take care. God Bless
